Whether he takes it or not is an open question, and his recent decision makes it seem as if he might still be thinking about it, but the game show host job is being offered to the athlete if he wants it.

That doesn’t really seem fair to the person who is still competing for the job.

Worst ‘Jeopardy!’ performance ever taints LeVar Burton’s long-awaited guest debut

What is an epic failure?

LeVar Burton’s “Jeopardy!” guest hosting debut ushered in a new low on the famed trivia game show.

Monday’s episode saw contestant Patrick Pearce record the lowest score in the program’s history — ending “Double Jeopardy” with -$7,400, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Burton, who has been a fan favorite to take over as host of the show following the death of Alex Trebek, had his first appearance somewhat overshadowed by Pearce’s unprecedented breakdown.

Pearce ended the first round of the game in the black with $200, but tanked in the next, making him ineligible for “Final Jeopardy,” and replacing Stephanie Hull’s -$6,800 2015 effort in the history

Matt Amodio of New Haven, Connecticut, capitalized on the California man’s poor performance to reportedly extend his four-day winning streak to $122,400.

The historic loss came as many excited fans tuned in to see the former “Reading Rainbow” star audition for the role many believed he is well suited for.

“Omg I never watch #Jeopardy. But tuned in last night to see Burton and wow what a bust,” one person tweeted.

“Wait, hold up. Did I (and probably a whole lotta other folks) just tune in for the first time in a LONG time to watch the lowest recorded score in #Jeopardy history? If so, now I feel even worse for him,” another said.

Here’s why Aaron Rodgers probably won’t be hosting ‘Jeopardy!’ next year

Sporting retro sunglasses and a T-shirt paying homage to a problematic employee from a workplace sitcom, MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers returned to work Tuesday.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback reported to Wisconsin’s Lambeau Field Tuesday morning, signaling a potential end to speculation on whether the NFL’s 2020 Most Valuable Player would lead the Packers offense this year.

The Packers celebrated the quarterback’s return on social media by posting a photo of Rodgers to their official Twitter account on Tuesday. The text of Tweet was simple, but said enough: a pin showed Rogers was located at “Lambeau Field” for #PackersCamp.

ESPN’s senior NFL writer Adam Schefter reported that Rodgers, who’s been publicly frustrated with Packers management this offseason, had renegotiated a new agreement with the team this past weekend to ensure that the quarterback would return for at least one more year. – Source
