It’s been more than nearly 20 years since Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton ended their, um, eccentric relationship. But the two are apparently still very much in contact with each other.

The Bad Santa actor recently did an interview with Us Weekly where he revealed that he and his ex-wife have been talking. So, what’s the deal? Is a reconciliation on the horizon? Or are they just friends?

Thornton made it clear that he and Jolie are just friends. After all, he’s off the market. He secretly got married to a woman named Connie Angland in 2014.

“We’re good friends. We’ve been friends for years and years and years,” the Love Actually actor told Us Weekly on September 13. “So we keep up with each other. She’s not in town a lot, so we don’t see each other much, but we talk.”
