Wendy Williams’ Brother Says His Sister ‘Is Not The Wendy We All Knew’: ‘It’s Not The Content That Is The Truth, But The Physical’

Wendy Williams’ brother Tommy is reneging on his prior statements to the press about his sister’s health.

According to The Jasmine Brand, Tommy recently made a video on his YouTube page addressing Williams’ health, officially stating that Williams’ health is “struggling.”
“I’m very supportive of Wendy so I tried to keep things under wraps in terms of her health,” he said, regarding his prior statements about Williams’ health being better than it actually is. “She is fighting, she is struggling. She is working her way back to being Wendy. No, she is not the Wendy we all knew and it’s very sad, very heart-wrenching, very disappointing, and it’s very frustrating.”

Tommy also told viewers that he has tried helping his sister, but Williams won’t let him or other family members into her life. He also said Williams is in denial about the current state of her health, bringing up her TMZ interview in which she revealed her stuttering speech and her lymphedema. Tommy said she told Williams not to do any interviews to keep her health private, but the interview revealed to the world what Williams’ health is really like.

He also said her divorce from Kevin Hunter isn’t what’s affecting Williams’ health, saying, “Her health is the situation…The fact that she needs to be away from people that are doing her wrong, that’s the situation. The fact that family is all down here in South Florida and Wendy is up in New York by herself.”
“…I want to be there badly, but I’m not brought in,” he continued. “It’s not because Wendy and I are not in a good space because we are, but mentally she’s not on board. Oppositionally, she doesn’t want me near because she realizes that I’m there to help and I might have some validity to a lot of things I’m trying to push on her. So therefore, she pushes me away.” He ended his video with a heartfelt plea for fans to pray for Williams and her health. – Source

One thing ya know about Wendy Williams, she doesn’t tiptoe around anything … which is why she told us — as only Wendy could — about her ongoing medical struggles, and starting her new career.

Wendy joined us Tuesday on “TMZ Live” to tell us more about why she’s turning her back on TV, for now, and instead, choosing to produce her own podcast — and, for her, it comes down to time and money.

Sounds like she’s been doing some homework, because she told us … “When you’re famous, podcasts will make more money for me, being famous, than doing the Wendy Williams Show.”

She made it clear, she’s “100 percent retired” from the grind of her daily TV show.

Wendy’s still in the planning stages when it comes to exactly what she’s going to dig into during the podcast — although, as we first reported, she has some celeb guests in mind already. But, the biggest revelation she dropped on us was about her battle with lymphedema.

She had no issue holding up her foot to reveal just how swollen it is from the condition — which is caused by a blockage in the lymphatic system. Wendy says she can only feel “maybe 5 percent of my feet” … but also explained how she’s not letting it slow her down. – Source
