Amid buzz that Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show kingdom is crumbling — WarnerMedia is investigating the workplace after allegations of a hostile environment, and actors like “Back to the Future” star Lea Thompson are vouching for the rumors — many online think they know the perfect replacement.

Yes, #ReplaceEllen is trending as of Monday morning on Twitter.

Although DeGeneres, 62, is reportedly set to start up filming this month, and has committed to “taking steps, together, to correct the issues,” according to her statement, much of the Twitterverse is already onto the next sunny star.

“Drag Race” host RuPaul, former first lady Michelle Obama and One Direction breakout star Harry Styles are being pushed by fans on Twitter to take over the comfy chair and cushy contract, while some think a female comedian, like Wanda Sykes or Tiffany Haddish, would fit the bill.

But former child star-turned-movie star Drew Barrymore, whose show “The Drew Barrymore Show” premieres Sept. 14, might have beat celeb hopefuls to the punch as the incoming queen of nice. Her first promo clip — a cute mock interview with her younger self — was released Friday and has already gone viral with nearly 2.5 million views.

Multiple outlets reported that “The Late Late Show” host James Corden is being tapped for the coveted spot, though Twitter was sure to swat down that idea with stories of the affable redhead acting less-than-jolly when off the clock.- Source

According to sources, DeGeneres could be replaced by other celebrities as the host of the daytime talk show. There were also claims that DeGeneres is the one looking for her replacement before she officially retires.

Since her contract is expiring in 2022, there are also allegations suggesting that the execs at NBC will not ask her to come back to the program.

Kristen Bell, Drew Barrymore, James Corden to replace Ellen DeGeneres

According to Us Weekly, Kristen Bell, Drew Barrymore, and James Corden continue to be the top contenders to host the Ellen Show.

A source said that Bell checks so many boxes, and the Ellen Show execs think that she’s a slam dunk for when DeGeneres decides to walk away.

“She’s relatable, appeals to all ages, and has warmth and charm. Plus, she’s available if they want to woo her into the job right away,” the source said.

Barrymore is also, allegedly, another favorite to replace DeGeneres.

Kelly Clarkson, Chrissy Teigen can’t replace Ellen

Eric Schiffer, a brand managing expert, also shared his thoughts on the matter. He said that two celebrities cannot possibly replace Ellen DeGeneres.

Schiffer said that Kelly Clarkson couldn’t possibly replace DeGeneres.

“She isn’t the best choice for this vehicle,” he said.

Schiffer also said that it would be crazy if Chrissy Teigen would replace Portia de Rossi’s wife as host.

“It would be stone-cold crazy. She doesn’t fit that type of energy and audience expectation,” he said. – Source
