Ahead of the 2020 presidential election, Wayne endorsed Trump for president and co-signed his “Platinum Plan” for the Black community, which led skeptics to believe it was all a tactic to receive a pardon. But Bradford Cohen, the lawyer who helped set up Trump’s meeting with Lil Wayne, denied the speculation in an interview with The New York Times.
Kodak Black (real name Bill Kahan Kapri) was in federal prison after pleading guilty to a firearms possession charge after being detained at the Canadian-American border in March 2020. Like Wayne, he took to Twitter to thank Trump for commuting his 46-month sentence.
But he’s not totally in the clear yet: The 23-year-old rapper still faces potential prison time after he was indicted on a felony charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct after allegedly forcing himself onto a woman, and at one point biting her neck and breast, in a hotel room in February 2016.
Prosecutors in South Carolina plan on “aggressively” going after Black on this case, Ed Clements, the 12th Circuit Solicitor in Florence County, told TMZ. If convicted, he could face 30 years in state prison.- Source
