Leah Remini Says Scientology Officials Asked Her to Invite Friend Jennifer Lopez to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ Wedding

Leah Remini claims Scientology asked her to invite longtime friend Jennifer Lopez to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes‘ 2006 wedding.

In her 20/20 interview on Friday night, the King of Queens star revealed that she was asked to bring Lopez and her then-husband, Marc Anthony, with her the to what she called “the wedding of the century.”

“The Church was really the one who invited them,” she said. “On Tom’s behalf.”

Remini said that Church officials attempted to separate her from the pop star during the three-day celebration.

“They were trying to extract me,” she said. “I can only assume because they wanted to make Jennifer a Scientologist. Maybe I was barring that road for them.”

After the wedding, the 45-year-old claimed she began to fall out of favor with the Church.

Remini said that numerous Church members had filed reports accusing her of poor behavior during the celebration, alleging that she was loud, late and rude. Remini said the Scientologists claimed she had “basically destroyed the wedding.”

The actress asserted that Holmes herself filed what is called a “Knowledge Report,” that called out Remini’s behavior.- Source
