Speaking of alliterate stars, this former A+ list actor has been in this space numerous times for all manner of terrible things.

One thing he was in for recently was his massive government fine.

Apparently the media still hasn’t caught on to the fact that it was paid by a friend of the leader of the country where our actor now lives with a pair of teenagers who are his lovers.

Steven Seagal on Hook for SEC Crypto Fine Despite Move to Moscow

(Bloomberg) – Steven Seagal, who starred in the movie Beyond the Law, found that even moving to Russia doesn’t mean you’re out of the reach of US courts, as the Securities and Exchange Commission has ruled against it won him.

A federal judge in Brooklyn, New York, said the SEC could, through Seagal’s chief executive officer, attempt to collect more than $ 200,000 the actor owed the U.S. government for failing to disclose that he was paying to promote a digital token became.

U.S. District Judge William Kuntz signed the order Friday allowing the SEC to collect the remaining fines, penalties and interest. Seagal had agreed to make a donation of more than $ 330,000, but the actor only made one payment of $ 75,000 and is late with the rest, according to a letter from Maureen Peyton King, an SEC attorney.

Chris Nassif, a Seagal spokesman, did not immediately comment on the court order.

Seagal agreed to settle the commission’s allegations that he was promised $ 250,000 in cash and $ 750,000 in tokens for promoting an initial coin offering for Bitcoiin2Gen. In social media posts, Seagal had asked fans not to miss the offer. The actor settled the allegations without admitting or denying wrongdoing.

Seagal, who now lives in Moscow, did not respond to repeated demands by the SEC after making his first payment, according to the commission. Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a presidential decree in 2016 that granted the actor Russian citizenship.

Kuntz ordered Seagal or his agents to appear in court last week to respond to the SEC. However, neither Seagal, his former lawyer nor his manager showed up on Friday.

After Kuntz signed the order on Friday afternoon, Peyton King asked if she could hand the papers over to King’s manager.

“Absolutely yes,” said Kuntz with a smile.
