Kristen Wiig Would Make a Perfect Wonder Woman 2 Villain

Kristen Wiig might be booking a visit to Themyscira in the near future. The comic actress is reportedly in talks to join the Wonder Woman sequel, which will be set in the 1980s, during the Cold War. But no, Wiig isn’t going to suit up and play an Amazonian warrior: according to Deadline, she’s actually rumored to play Cheetah, the main villain and one of Diana Prince’s top foils. Representatives for Wiig have not yet responded to Vanity Fair’s request for comment.

So, Wiig! As a superhero villain! She might not seem like the instantly obvious choice, but the unexpected nature of this casting is what makes it so delightful. Cheetah, whose powers include super-strength and deadly claws, has appeared throughout the Wonder Woman comics in four different iterations: as Priscilla Rich, a World War II-era socialite; Deborah Domaine, Rich’s wealthy niece; Barbara Ann Minerva, a British archaeologist; and as Sebastian Ballesteros, a businessman. Of these options, the first two seem right in Wiig’s wheelhouse, don’t they? The Saturday Night Live alum has played a variety of high-society snobs on-screen, most recently in The Last Man on Earth, where she hammed it up as Pamela Brinton, an airheaded socialite with a twisted sense of humor. – Source
