Seagram heiress Clare Bronfman to be sentenced in January for role in NXIVM sex cult

Seagram’s liquor heiress Clare Bronfman will be sentenced in January after pleading guilty to federal charges for her role in the NXIVM sex cult, authorities said Friday.

Bronfman will face a Brooklyn Federal Court judge on Jan. 8, 2020, public records show. Though she faces up to 25 years in prison, the heiress will most likely receive a prison sentence between 21 to 27 months.

Bronfman pleaded guilty in April to charges of concealing and harboring an illegal alien for financial gain and fraudulent use of identification.

The upstate cult’s bookkeeper, Kathy Russell, who pleaded guilty to visa fraud, is set to be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2020. She faces up to ten years in prison, though sentencing guidelines allow her to receive between six months to a year behind bars. – Source
