The driver picked up the foreign-born Academy award winning best director known for a controversial film in the seventies (now deceased) at LAX.
Enroute to the director’s West Hollywood home, the director and driver discussed a current movie.
“Did you see ____ it was so HIP,” the director inquired in his proper British accent
“Yes, it was too hip for its own good.
I didn’t believe one minute of it,” the driver said.
“I was actually at Sundance when ______ premiered and people went nuts! I was excited about that film.
The director _____.was there at the premier,” the driver continued.
“I didn’t buy this one.
Seemed like a movie based on other movies and characters – not one genuine moment in it,” the driver added.
The director clucked and nodded.
No more conversation.
