BTS Members Do Not Have to Worry about Military Service, for Now

The South Korean government announced that BTS members can apply for a delay of their mandatory military service. In South Korea, all male citizens need to enlist for two years, and the maximum age is 28. However, last year, the Korean Parliament decided that idols can wait until they are 30 to enlist, as they have many projects and represent the Korean culture worldwide.

Jin will soon turn 30

Next year, BTS’s Jin will turn 30, and this is the maximum age for idols to enlist in the military service. It seems that their hiatus will not happen that soon, as sources write that the South Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism is ready to postpone it. If all BTS seven members start their military service simultaneously, the band’s activities will be on hold for two years.
