Meghan Markle backed to become US President in 2024 election after latest political move

Meghan Markle has become increasingly vocal on political matters since stepping back as a senior royal with husband Prince Harry earlier this year. Last night the couple urged Americans to vote in the upcoming US Presidential election, prompting bookmakers to state it is possible for Meghan to run for President in 2024.

Betfair have slashed odds on the likelihood of Meghan running for President in 2024 from 66/1 to 20/1.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Meghan Markle’s likelihood of running for President in 2024 has dramatically improved from 66/1 to 20/1 following her latest comments on the US election.

“Since dropping her royal duties in January, the Duchess has shown she’s not afraid to intervene in US politics – despite it being controversial.

“Even though she’s a 500/1 shot to win in 2024, this is just another example of Meghan potentially building her political profile for if she’s to run in the future.”

Ladbrokes have Meghan on odds of 100/1 to become President of the US in 2024.

The change in odds follows her recent political address where she urged Americans to vote in the “most important election of our lifetime”.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Since leaving the UK Meghan hasn’t been shy when it’s come to voicing her political opinions, and a run for President in 2024 certainly isn’t off the table.” – Source

Meghan Markle Could “Seriously Consider” Running for President In 2024

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could trade in their gorgeous California digs for a nice big White House *sometime* in the future. According to Vanity Fair, sources close to Markle say she would consider running for president in 2024. “One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics,” said the source. “I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles she would seriously consider running for president.”

But not everyone close to the Duchess agrees. “While there’s no denying she is interested and engaged in politics as a topic, she harbors no ambition to enter a career in politics herself,” said another source to VF.

The couple has been working hard to get the vote out in the upcoming election. Not only did Meghan speak to Marie Claire about her reasons for voting, she also sat down with Gloria Steinem for a wide-ranging conversation. The couple also appeared in a video for TIME magazine’s TIME100 special, with Meghan saying:

“Every four years, we are told the same thing: that this is the most important election of our lifetime. But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action and our voices are heard. Your voice is a reminder that you matter, because you do, and you deserve to be heard.” – Source
