NBCUniversal – In August 2020, he stepped down from his role as Vice Chairman after he admitted to an affair with an unnamed woman and claimed he was being extorted.The woman was revealed to be Charlotte Kirk. In September 2020, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Meyer and former Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara may have colluded to cover up the real nature of their relationships with Charlotte Kirk.

NBCUniversal Investigating Ron Meyer as Charlotte Kirk Affair Expands to More Moguls

On Aug. 18, Ron Meyer said he made a settlement “with a woman outside the company who had made false accusations against me,” later identified as actress Charlotte Kirk.
After ousting its longtime studio chief, the company has hired outside counsel to investigate “Ron’s behavior,” an insider says.

On Aug. 13, NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell and NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer sat at a quiet table at CityWalk Hollywood for a regularly scheduled lunch. In a moment that came out of the blue for Shell, Meyer confessed that he had an affair with actress Charlotte Kirk in 2013 and had reached a $2  million settlement with her last year. Five days later, Meyer was out of a job, with a 56-year career and legacy in tatters in a move reminiscent of last year’s ouster of Warner Bros. chief Kevin Tsujihara, whose own affair with the once-obscure Kirk had led to his downfall.

Now, NBCUniversal has hired outside counsel to investigate “Ron’s behavior,” says an insider, in an effort to determine if any company money or resources were used in conjunction with the affair or its cover-up. The goal is to determine if the media giant was unwittingly a party to any impropriety. (An NBCUniversal spokesperson confirmed that an investigation is underway.)

All this comes at a time when the Kirk scandal keeps expanding, with more powerful Hollywood men named as having been involved with the now-27-year-old actress, who is said to have Asperger’s syndrome and was possibly promised roles and auditions in exchange for sex. “This is the tip of the iceberg,” says one lawyer who is knowledgeable about matters involving Kirk. – Source

FBI investigating Ron Meyer’s claims of extortion over Charlotte Kirk affair

The FBI is looking into allegations by ousted NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer that he was the target of an extortion plot stemming from his relationship with actress Charlotte Kirk, sources said.

A source told Page Six on Wednesday, “The FBI has made calls as recently as this week about the matter.” But the source added that it’s unclear where the inquiries will go.

Meyer stepped down this month after revealing he had an affair with a woman in 2013 and struck a settlement of $2 million last year. The woman is reportedly Kirk, who was also involved in a scandal that ousted Warner Bros. exec Kevin Tsujihara just before she settled with Meyer.

Meyer told company brass about the relationship because unnamed people “continuously attempted to extort me into paying them money.” Reports allege one of the parties was Kirk’s current fiancé, “Hellboy” director Neil Marshall, who strongly denied the claims, calling them “trumped up.” – Source
