There is some rebooted news about the permanent A list mostly movie actor who is an Oscar winner/nominee who is the offspring of an A lister.

He used to pay women to go away after hooking up with them and one decided they didn’t want to, so he and his foreign born actress wife decided to make it look like a stalker situation.

It wasn’t.

A woman who pleaded no contest to stalking and threatening Catherine Zeta-Jones was sentenced Friday to three years in state prison, but with credit for time served, she could be imprisoned for as little as seven months.

Dawnette Knight, 35, was given credit for 600 days served. Superior Court Judge David Mintz also ordered her to pay $200 in restitution.

Zeta-Jones, who won a 2003 supporting actress Oscar for her role in “Chicago,” wasn’t in court, but sent a letter that was read by prosecutor Debra Archuleta.

Calling Knight “evil,” the actress told her: “You have profoundly affected me in how I conduct my life. … Your actions will be with me the rest of my life — how I will be constantly observing, looking over my shoulder.”

Zeta-Jones added: “You will never be famous, you will never be infamous, you are just a criminal.”

Knight pleaded with Mintz for leniency and apologized to Zeta-Jones, saying: “I hope one day the victim will forgive me. I am sorry. I think about it all the time.”

Lawyer Richard Herman said his client received “a very kind sentence.” Charged with one felony count of stalking and three felony counts of making criminal threats, she could have been sentenced to five years in prison.

Knight was accused of sending threatening and violent letters to acquaintances of the actress, including her agent and her husband, actor Michael Douglas.

One letter said: “We are going to slice her up like meat on a bone and feed her to the dogs.” In another letter, Knight allegedly apologized, claiming she had been in love with Douglas.

Knight was originally charged with stalking and 24 counts of making criminal threats between Oct. 2, 2003, and May 21, 2004. Twenty-one of those counts were dismissed.- Source

A woman accused of stalking Catherine Zeta-Jones has suggested in court that she had a love affair with the film star’s husband, Michael Douglas.

Dawnette Knight, 33, told a judge in Los Angeles yesterday that Douglas paid her off after the affair.

Jay Lavely, the lawyer for Swansea-born Oscar winner Zeta Jones, dismissed the claim, saying: “It doesn’t deserve comment.”

Ms Knight, who was recently deemed fit to stand trial despite taking a drug overdose in custody in July, has previously admitted being infatuated with Douglas.

But yesterday, in the witness box, Ms Knight said Douglas gave her money and she strongly suggested the actor and she were having a romance.

“I said I’m not here to ruin anybody’s marriage and he’s married,” she said during the ongoing preliminary hearing.

Ms Knight is charged with stalking and 24 counts of making criminal threats against Swansea-born Zeta-Jones.

She is accused of sending letters threatening to kill the star and “feed her to the dogs”.

Unemployed Ms Knight, who is in custody, was arrested on June 3 at her home in Beverly Hills. If convicted, she faces up to 19 years in prison.

A day before Knight overdosed on barbiturates Chicago star Zeta-Jones appeared before the court to tell of Ms Knight’s alleged reign of terror.

She said she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown as a result of the “satanic” threats.- Source
