This time on the opposite side of the country from LA.

It was done by this A+ list producer/writer/actor who churns out comedy movies and television shows and is known for doing nice things for others.

Tyler Perry pays off $430K worth of layaways

Tyler Perry played a new role at two Atlanta-area Walmarts — Not So Secret Santa.

The “Madea” creator shelled out more than $400,000 to pay for all the layaway items at one of the retail giant’s locations in East Point and another in Douglasville, according to local station WSB-TV 2.

He intended to keep the generous donation under wraps — but made the announcement in a Twitter video Thursday after the word quickly spread.

“I know it’s hard times, everyone’s struggling and I’m just really, really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this,” Perry said in the video. “So, God bless you, go get your stuff. Merry Christmas!”

Anyone who had items on layaway before 9:30 a.m. Thursday is covered — and will only need to pay one penny to retrieve their items, Perry said. – Source
