Michael Jackson Fan Clubs Sue ‘Leaving Neverland’ Accusers for Reportedly Breaking French Law

A couple of fan clubs wanna be startin’ somethin’ with the two accusers featured in HBO’s two-part documentary series Leaving Neverland. As reported by Time, three Michael Jackson fan clubs based in France are suing Wade Robson and James Safechuck for damaging Jackson’s reputation with their allegations that he molested and sexually assaulted them routinely for years while they were still children.

Emmanuel Ludot, the lawyer representing the fan clubs, is citing a French law against public denunciation of a dead person and seeking one euro each from Robson and Safechuck. You read that right: one euro each. Turns out the lawsuit is a symbolic gesture on behalf of the fan clubs defending the memory of the King of Pop. Still, the lawsuit is very real.

It’s so real that a court in the French city of Orleans actually held a hearing on July 4 on the lawsuit and a lawyer representing Robson and Safechuck was actually present.- Source
