Matthew Koma slams ex-collaborator Zedd as ‘toxic’ and ‘abusive’

Matthew Koma says his friendship with former longtime collaborator Zedd ended on very bad terms.

Singer-songwriter Koma, who is engaged to “Younger” star Hilary Duff, released a statement on Instagram about how their partnership turned “toxic” and caused them to go their separate ways.

“In response to years of: ‘What happened with you & Zedd’. I want to finally be transparent about this…it’s a really sad truth because I’m extremely proud of the work he and I did together…unfortunately my good feelings toward those songs have all but disappeared as they were experienced alongside someone so toxic and self serving that it occupied the space where any happiness could exist,” Koma wrote in the Apple Notes app.

“It’s not that dramatic of a story and it comes down to something simple,” continued Koma, also a producer. “S–tty people suck and when they’re successful, people are afraid to blow the whistle.”

Zedd hasn’t publicly commented on or responded to Koma’s claims.- Source

Selena Gomez Got a Tweet From an Ex

Exes are full of surprises. Thankfully, Selena Gomez got a pretty pleasant one from her old flame and collaborator Zedd, after he tweeted about the singer’s new song “Taki Taki” with DJ Snake, Cardi B, and Ozuna. The music producer had nothing but love for the dance track in a tweet where he tagged Selena. “@djsnake @selenagomez @Ozuna_Pr taki taki is fire !” he wrote.

Zeddlena briefly dated back in 2015, when they teamed up for the song “I Want You to Know.” Rumors of their relationship swirled in January, with neither confirming or denying the dating claims. Things fizzled out by July, when Selena confirmed they “had a thing” and defended the relationship during a radio interview, after Diplo accused them of working a publicity stunt.

Zedd would later comment on the difficulties of dating someone as famous as Selena, in an interview with Billboard last year. “Reporters were calling my parents,” he said. “People were hacking my friends’ phones. I was pissed. [Though] I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. She is one of the most talked about people in the world, but I had no idea how much that would change my life.”- Source
