Despite all of the foregoing, this pedophile somehow only spent a handful of years in prison.

Just a short couple of years after his release, he moved to Hollywood, where he also registered as a sex offender with authorities in his new state of residence.

Incredibly, this pedophile began working in casting in Hollywood, often with children.

He found himself a great deal of work over the next several years, even casting work for a couple films you would all know.

Several years ago, this pedophile was working on a fairly big-budget film.

This film touted an A-list director.

This director first made it big in television, and later moved into film.

Just a couple years earlier, this director’s career was launched into the big-leagues, when he directed an important film, for one of Hollywood’s most storied franchises.

Everyone who employed the pedophile claimed to have been fooled by an alias.

The A-list director claims that once he was informed of this pedophile being employed casting children on his film – that he took immediate action and notified the authorities.

However, the pedophile didn’t really use an alias to fool the studio and director, as they had claimed.

The pedophile was charged with having used an alias, which is a criminal act for any registered sex offender.

When the case went to court, the judge ruled that every Hollywood employer of this pedophile knew his full and legal name.

The pedophile walked out of court free.

So everyone in Hollywood either never bothered to Google the guy, or knew and didn’t care.

Jason James Murphy, who served five years for kidnapping and molesting an 8-year-old boy, worked on “Super 8,” “Cheaper By The Dozen 2” and “School of Rock.”

A convicted child molester who has spent recent years as a Hollywood casting agent was arrested and released Friday on suspicion of violating sex offender registry laws.

Los Angeles county prosecutors charged Jason James Murphy, 35, with failure to file a name change and a change of address. Murphy had been working under the name “Jason James” but did not list that information in the “Megan’s Law” sex offender registry, which is required by law, according to sheriff’s officials in a news release.

The arrest follows a three-week investigation by prosecutors after the Los Angeles Times reported Murphy’s past conviction and his recent film work, including casting both children and adults.

According to the Times, the then-19-year-old college student was convicted in Washington state in 1996 for molesting and later abducting an 8-year-old boy, whom he met as a camp counselor. He served five years in prison and underwent sex-offender counseling. – Source
