Daisy Ridley has admitted to having therapy sessions in order to cope with her meteoric rise to fame.
The Star Wars actress boldly revealed that after filming wrapped on The Last Jedi, she enlisted the help of a therapist for six months, admitting that it presented her with an opportunity to ‘step away’ from the famous franchise.
Speaking to The Telegraph, the 25-year-old confessed: ‘I have always suffered with anxiety since I was a teenager, I should have done it way before, but I suddenly realised how good it is to talk about this stuff.’
The British star revealed that her sessions enabled her to come to terms with how her life was changing after the major sci-fi flick was released, subsequently making Daisy a household name overnight.
She continued: ‘Going through the whole thing with the same group of people is wonderful, but also occasionally it’s a really good to step away [from the cast and crew of Star Wars] and actually really process what went on, and how I felt in it all.’
The interview also saw Daisy open up about her decision to quit social media after falling victim to cruel trolls. – Source
