Country singer Gretchen Wilson booted from New Mexico hotel over noise complaints

Country star Gretchen Wilson was booted from a New Mexico hotel just hours after performing at a music festival — because other guests complained she was making too much noise, according to a new report.

The 46-year-old Grammy-Award winning artist was performing on Saturday at the Hadley Sports Complex, along with Ronnie Milsap, Jessie G and others, the lineup shows.

The trouble started when she left the stage and returned to her room at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces.

“Was a guest in Las Cruces, NM, yesterday and had a blast with the people there,” the star tweeted Sunday. “However, you should all band together to put Hotel Encanto out of business. Had to wait 2 hours for breakfast. Then they sent police to kick me out in the middle of the night for no reason. I complied. Home early.”

“I got off stage at 11:30 p.m.,” she added. “At 12:30 [a.m.], I was only talking in my room. The hotel informed me that QUIET HOURS started at 10 p.m. Wrong hotel for 3rd shifters.”

“I know who I am. And I know my truth,” the singer said in a third tweet. “And so does God. God bless all of you!”

In a recording of the 911 call, obtained by The Las Cruces Sun News, a hotel employee told dispatchers that multiple people made noise complaints against the singer.

“We went up there multiple times the last half hour,” the employee said. “So, I went up there and she said she was a celebrity but I forgot to get her name. Gretchen something, she participated in the country music festival and her words were, ‘I paid for the room, I could care less what people think.’ We had her escorted off [the] property.”

The employee added that Wilson was being “super loud” and that “her level of talking is like our yelling.” – Source
