Julianne Hough Says She’s ‘Not Straight’

Julianne Hough and her husband, professional hockey player Brooks Laich, recently celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary, but in a new interview with Women’s Health, the singer says she’s “not straight.” The country singer, actor and professional dancer says she’s only recently been able to be forthcoming about her sexuality.

“I [told him], ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’” Hough explains to Women’s Health, though she does not explicitly call herself bisexual. Recounting the recent conversation between herself and Laich, she continues, “I was like, ‘I’m not. But I choose to be with you.'”

Hough says she had this conversation with her husband after months of “unpacking” various moments and trials she’s endured, including her endometriosis diagnosis and going through the process of in vitro fertilization. She says she’s been “connecting to the woman inside that doesn’t need anything, versus the little girl that looked to [Brooks] to protect me,” though Hough admits that she feared that her husband might not love the changes.- Source
