Lost in all the Golden Globes hoopla was a hidden announcement of sorts.
Over the past 12-18 months, a government has grown tired of all the missing persons reports that all seem to involve this actor’s charity.
Either a person goes to work for it and is never seen again or someone visits from the charity or they get services from it and then they disappear.
No, of course not, but several dozen at least over that time period. It is the one commonality of the missing people.
So, the government has formally asked this group to begin withdrawing and will just allow them to leave a skeleton staff in place.
As soon as the government asked, no one went missing any longer.
So, where does the charity now go?
They are moving to extreme low income places here in the US with high populations of recently landed immigrants which can easily go missing and no one would ever think of reporting it.
With the transformation of the charity and its name came a big need for massive donations.
One of the biggest donors is this A- list singer who two years ago basically traded for an underage teen who lived with him for a year before he tired of her.
That singer got her from the directionally challenged rapper who, although an expert on this type of situation does not appear to be involved in the charity at all.
Actor’s Charity: Sean Penn (“J/P HRO” will now go by the name “CORE”)
A-list singer: Wyclef Jean
Directionally challenged rapper: French Montana
Sean Penn’s Haitian Relief Organization Undergoes Rebranding With New Name, Mission Statement
For years now, Sean Penn has put his stamp on Golden Globes weekend with a Beverly Hills-set fundraiser all in the name of Haiti to raise funds and awareness for his J/P Haitian Relief Organization and its recovery efforts following the devastating 2010 earthquake.
Tonight, Penn, J/P HRO and its most famous supporters are gathering at Koreatown concert venue The Wiltern for a fundraiser — Haiti + Beyond — during which the Oscar-winner is revealing a rebranding for his nonprofit — a name change and new logo while announcing an expanded mission and strategic vision and focus to include work in the United States and the Caribbean.
J/P HRO will now go by the name CORE, which is dedicated to saving lives while strengthening communities affected by or vulnerable to crises. “CORE envisions a world where at-risk communities are prepared for, resilient to, and able to respond and recover quickly and effectively, in the face of emergency,” reads the nonprofit’s new vision statement. – Source
Wyclef Jean accused of stealing Haiti charity money in disastrous Reddit AMA
A Reddit AMA with Wyclef Jean to mark the 20th anniversary of classic album The Score this weekend went disastrously wrong for the former Fugee.
Back in 2010, it was reported that criminal investigations had been opened into Jean’s Haitian aid organisation, Yele Haiti. Despite taking in around $16m in donations in 2010 alone, the charity was closed two years later amid accusations of fraud.
It was alleged that Yele spent $9million of that $16million on office space, workers’ salaries and other expenses. It was also reported that Wyclef paid himself $100,000 to perform in a charity concert for the organisation.
Despite denying the accusations on several occasions over the years, Redditors used Sunday’s AMA to harangue the musician about his alleged dodgy dealings.- Source
