Steven Seagal Ended An Interview After Being Asked About His Sexual Assault Allegations

Despite being someone whose name is often prefaced by the words “What ever happened to,” Steven Seagal apparently still books interviews. And his most recent TV appearance was on yesterday’s episode of BBC Newsnight. Little did BBC Newsnight know that they were about to make the news themselves after they addressed elephant in the room, and I’m not talking about Steven’s spray-on action figure villain hairline.

The interview between Steven and BBC Newsnight reporter Kirsty Wark started off normally, but People notes that it went off the rails very quickly after she brought up his most recent (and arguably, relevant) appearance in the news. Over the past year, Steven’s name was pulled into several #MeToo conversations. Portia de Rossi alleged that Steven had once unzipped his pants during an audition to see if they had “chemistry.” Julianna Margulies alleged that Steven once asked her to come to his place and go over a scene at 10:40pm at night, where she discovered him alone with a gun. Jenny McCarthy alleged that Steven once asked to see her breasts during an audition, and when she declined and left, he cornered her at her car and told her not to tell anyone “or else.” Inside Edition’s Lisa Guerrero has alleged that Steven once asked her to his home for an audition, where he greeted her wearing only a silk robe, then requested she return later for a “private” audition (she had brought a female casting employee with her as a safety net).

And then earlier this year, Steven was investigated by the LAPD after a woman named Regina Simons claimed he raped her when she was 18 during the filming of On Deadly Ground. Due to the statute of limitations, Steven couldn’t be prosecuted.- Source
