After the Harvey Weinstein scandal , I have head that there are several big news outlets that are prepared to expose three other Hollywood honchos:

that kid show producer,

that openly gay director who escaped charges in the past and

the biggest one of all: that billionaire mogul who has had buildings named after him. I don’t know when these accusations will start appearing in rapid succession, or if they will appear at all, but after the Weinstein fracas it will probably be sooner than later.

Bryan Singer’s Connection to Hollywood Kid Sex Scene Explored in Doc

If Amy Berg’s documentary An Open Secret eventually finds the distribution that is currently eluding it, it’s going to mean more problems for director Bryan Singer, who earlier this year was accused of repeatedly drugging, threatening and forcibly sodomizing a minor in a lawsuit. It could mean problems, in fact, for a whole lot of people in Hollywood. Our awareness of the exploitation of minors by powerful men is just the tip of an iceberg, according to Anne Henry of the non-profit BizParentz.

Watching An Open Secret last night at its world premiere at DOC NYC, I was floored by its power. It struck me that this movie, if seen by enough people, could change things. It could contribute to making the world a better place by righting objective wrongs, a la Blackfish.

Singer’s accuser Michael Egan has since dropped his case, but Singer’s connection to Marc Collins-Rector’s teen-filled party scene hosted at his Hollywood mansion is detailed with specificity in the damning An Open Secret. Singer, according the doc, was an investor in Collins-Rector’s Digital Entertainment Network, an early purveyor of original video content on the internet a la Netflix. Collins-Rector founded DEN with Chad Shackley. Collins-Rector and Shackley became romantically involved, according to the documentary, when Shackley was 15. DEN, then, was their way of luring teen guys (some of whom were interviewed in An Open Secret) who aspired to stardom. Some of these guys would attend the parties at Collins-Rector’s house—parties that Singer allegedly frequented. – Source

Robert Downey Jr. allegedly wrote the following statement about Dan Schneider on Crazy Days and Nights under the screen name Himmmm:

Hes a monster. The WORST predator alive. And if you wonder why nobody will confront or charge him? Hes in charge of multiple HIT SHOWS for Nick which rakes in oceans of money. Tens of millions of dollars multiplied by many years and many shows (not to mention his merchandising royalties). So Viacom-Nick warn him to cool it – then pay for his damn lawyers.

What about the parents? No tweener parent who shoved their kid into the limelight from birth is going to cross him either, and risk career suicide and loss of revenue (and residuals and future career). No matter how bad it ****s up the kids. Especially if theres MULTIPLE kid actors in the family. And the kids agents are complicit too. Just ask the Spears family. A LOT of settlements get paid out of Viacoms accounts.

David Geffen’s Philanthropy Is a Slap in the Face to Humanity

Multibillionaire Hollywood mogul David Geffen is America’s single most selfish philanthropist. If you can imagine such a thing! Every fucking thing David Geffen does or says regarding philanthropy drives home the fact that David Geffen sucks!

Most people think of “charity” as “giving money to help other people.” For billionaires like David Geffen, charity means something more like “advertising for David Geffen.” He gives away hundreds of millions of dollars (which he certainly won’t miss)—but the purpose of these donations is not to feed the hungry or remediate the sort of inequality that creates billionaire Hollywood moguls; rather, it is all designed to A) Demonstrate David Geffen’s incredible selflessness to the world, B) Erect gaudy public monuments to David Geffen, and, as a corollary, C) Demonstrate also that David Geffen has absolutely no sense of priorities as to what the world’s actual problems are. The sort of loot he gives away could literally save millions of lives, if given to the right charitable organizations. Instead, David Geffen gives his money to things like a private middle school for college professors’ kids and cultural institutions that cater to the rich. – Source
