Ashton Kutcher criticized for partying with rape suspect Danny Masterson at Napa Valley wedding

On Tuesday, Ashton Kutcher made headlines for mysteriously tweeting out a message about how he misses “a real connection w/ real people,” along with a 10-digit phone number where he claimed people could reach him.

It turns out that the number was for a startup that allows social media celebrities — like actor and tech investor Kutcher — to connect with their fans, though not in any “real connection” way, according to an investigation by Wired.

Meanwhile, the news about Kutcher’s mystery tweet overshadowed a less savory item about the actor. It has to do with Kutcher’s continued friendship with Hollywood pal Danny Masterson.

Since 2017, Masterson has been under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department on suspicion of raping four women — three of whom once were members, like Masterson, of the Church of Scientology.

On Tuesday, journalist Tony Ortega also published a detailed report about Kutcher attending a Scientology wedding in the Napa Valley with some actor friends, including Masterson, his co-star on “That ’70s Show” and Netflix’s “The Ranch.”

Ortega wrote that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office is close to making a decision about whether to arrest or charge Masterson. In the meantime, Ortega wrote, Masterson is “making the most of it.”

Over the weekend, Masterson joined Kutcher and his wife, Mila Kunis, at “a Scientology wedding,” despite efforts by Kutcher and Kunis to keep their “involvement under wraps,” Ortega said. Kutcher and Kunis are not known to be involved in Scientology.
