Madonna is currently touring Asia to promote her Rebel Heart album. A couple of interesting things happened during her stop in The Phillipines this week.

Madonna loves to shock and provoke, and continued that tradition by acting and dressing in a vulgar manner and disrespecting the Filipino flag. From ABC.net.au:

American singer Madonna may face a ban in the Philippines for disrespecting its flag in her concerts last week in the capital Manila, a local broadcaster says.

The 57-year-old entertainer is on a world tour to promote her “Rebel Heart” album, and did sold-out shows on Wednesday and Thursday.

Historical commission official Teodoro Atienza told radio station dzBB that Madonna had “ridiculed” the country’s flag.

The entertainer violated a law that prohibits the wearing of the Philippine flag “in whole, or in part, as a costume or uniform”, he said.

“They may face deportation and might not be able to return to the country.

She also allowed the flag to touch the stage floor, which is another violation.”

A Roman Catholic bishop in the Philippines this week urged the faithful to boycott Madonna’s shows over her “suggestive” performance and “vulgar” clothes.

Roman Catholics make up about 80 per cent of a population of more than 100 million in the Philippines.

Now for the blind item part. In an attempt to bond with the Filipino audience, Madonna told a story about a Filipino she knows… and a former boyfriend.

“I just wanted to share this little story with you.

You know, once I had a Filipino trainer, this beautiful, beautiful girl.

She was gorgeous and very talented as a trainer.

But she fucked my boyfriend. So I fired her. I just wanted to share that with you. Yep. In this case, it was not a happy ending!”

She then went on to repeat the last line in an attempt to elicit a laugh from the audience. Some concert goers were offended by her equating beautiful Filipino girls with “happy endings.”

His mother – who herself is eight years younger than Madonna – said, “I certainly wouldn’t say we’re overjoyed by his relationship with a non-Muslim.”
